The primary mission of the department is to prepare social studies teachers. Furthermore, the department aims to prepare educators to advance the profession of teaching social studies by the repertoire of research methods, the effective uses of technology and the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of instructional practices. 

Department of Social Studies Education consists of 8 faculty members and 1 research assistant. The Program has technically well-equipped learning environments / classrooms. The University Library is quite rich in periodicals and online data base sources. Our students effectively use the Bursa Uludag University Library.

Our graduates can work as a social studies teacher at public or private institutions (by meeting the conditions of the relevant institutions). Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can continue their master programs by meeting acceptance conditions stated in the advertisements of the University.
