The research project titled “Neurophysiology of Space Experience: Determination of Affective Dynamics in Human-Space Relationships for the Design of Healthy Urban Spaces” was applied by Assoc. As the director, Prof. Dr. Elvan ENDER ALTAY, one of our faculty members, was awarded support according to the Scientific Assessment Results of TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 2024 2nd Term 1001 Projects.
The main research topic of the project is the changes in the perception process experienced while experiencing urban spaces. In order to reach the emotions in human-space experience analytically in the project, the effects of the elements that make up the structure of the space on the user will be determined with physical measurements (EEG/Electroencephalogram). This project aims to create awareness of the components that affect emotions at the design scale in urban spaces. The research is an interdisciplinary study in which the professional disciplines of landscape architecture, architecture, and medical science will work together.
