The results of the scientific evaluation for TÜBİTAK-ARDEB 2024 2nd Term 1001 Projects have been announced. Five academics from Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) have earned the right to receive support for the projects they prepared. Additionally, three BUÜ academics have projects that have been approved to apply without waiting for the next term.
According to the published list, from the SOBAG research group, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elvan Ender Altay, a faculty member of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Agriculture, received support for her project titled "Neurophysiology of Spatial Experience: Determining Emotional Dynamics in the Human-Space Relationship for the Design of Healthy Urban Spaces." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mücahit Özdemir, a faculty member of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, received support for his project titled "Examining Graduate Education Programs in Islamic Economics and Finance in Turkey’s Higher Education Institutions from the Perspective of Stakeholders and Proposing Policy Suggestions for Increasing Their Effectiveness." Dr. Instructor Halime Alkan, a faculty member of the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, was awarded support for her project titled "Institutional Analysis of the Transformation in the 19th Century Ottoman Legal System: Multidimensional Empirical Approaches on Court Decisions in Ceride-I Mehâkim."
From the SBAG research group, Prof. Dr. Ferah Budak, a faculty member of the Department of Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, received support for her project titled "Immunotherapeutic and Immunoprognostic Approaches in Anaphylaxis in the Natural Immune System Axis." From the MAG research group, Prof. Dr. Yakup Aykut, a faculty member of the Department of Textile Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, also received support for his project titled "Development of an Ionic Nanofiber Filter System for Selective Separation of Double Helix Genetic Molecules."
The list also revealed that BUÜ academics' one health sciences and two engineering sciences projects have earned the right to apply without waiting for the next term.
CONTINUING TO PRODUCE PROJECTS!
Congratulating all the academics who earned support, BUÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz emphasized that they continue their efforts to diversify their work and secure more TÜBİTAK project supports. Pointing out that Bursa Uludağ University has experienced staff in academic and scientific fields, Prof. Dr. Yılmaz stated, "We are among Turkey's selected 23 Research Universities. This title brings us many advantages. To remain in the Research Universities league and climb to higher ranks, we must focus on science, projects, and R&D. We can achieve this together. We want more of our academics to produce projects and receive support for them. We are also working on new motivating initiatives in this direction. We will strive to elevate our university to the place it deserves with collective efforts, and we will continue producing more projects for this purpose."
Rector Yılmaz pointed out that, based on the success performances in the TÜBİTAK 2024 2nd Term 1001 Projects, they are among the best universities. He noted that TÜBİTAK's support rate for the projects exceeded 15%. Yılmaz also added that academics could renew their projects and reapply.
